Gynecomastia, enlarged male breast tissue, can result from hormonal changes, genetics, certain medications, or weight changes. Surgery addresses tissue that does not resolve with these factors.
Removed glandular tissue does not grow back, so results are long-lasting, though significant weight gain or new hormonal/medication factors can affect the chest.
Most men return to desk work within a few days to a week and resume exercise in about 4-6 weeks, wearing a compression garment during early healing.
