SURGICAL EXCISION

Most treatment options in neurofibromatosis involve the removal of tumors that are growing or causing progressive symptoms such as pain or disfigurement. This requires an incision to be made to remove the area of the tumor.

ELECTRODESICCATION

In Type 1 neurofibromatosis, small clusters of skin tumors may arise that continually enlarge and become disfiguring or painful. Dr. Panossian is one of only a few surgeons in the country performing this technique for neurofibromatosis. It offers the advantage of removing hundreds of tumors in a single session of surgery.
